"I was at a loose end, everyone’s babies seemed to be sleeping through the night and nobody could really tell me what they were doing differently to me! There was so much conflicting advice online and even more so with family and friends.. Following the newborn guide, we went from hourly wakes to 2 hourly and then 3 wakes. This has been consistent for the last month or so (4 months now) I cannot tell you how many times my husband and I have read the newborn guide in the last 4 months!"

FAQ

  • Is there any crying involved in newborn sleep shaping?

Newborn babies need a lot of support when it comes to sleep. For the first 4 months of your baby's life you will need to offer that support and ensure they are getting the sleep they need to grow and develop. This course does not involve any controlled crying. The sleep shaping lessons in this course are designed to help your newborn get used to sleeping in their own sleep space and build the foundations with consistent support from you.

  • Can my newborn keep their pacifier?

Absolutely! In fact if your newborn will take a pacifier I recommend it as a great soothing tool. This is something you can take away between 4-6 months if you wish.

  • Does this course have advice on feeding?

I have recommendations on both bottle and breastfeeding in this course to promote longer stretches of sleep. However as I am not a certified lactation consultant I do not have specific recommendations for improving your feeding journey.

  • Can I bed-share whist doing this course?

The aim of this course is to help you promote more sleep in your newborn's own sleep space. However there is no pressure for you to stop bed-sharing completely if this is something you enjoy and that you are doing safely.

Who is this course for?

  • Pregnant? You are pregnant and want to be best prepared for when your little one arrives.

  • New Parents? You have a newborn who is under 3 months and aren’t too sure where to start when it comes to sleep.

  • Friend or family member of a mother-to-be? Are a friend, family member or colleague who wants to give a new mama the gift of sleep.
